FAQs

When should a baby wear a 2.5 TOG sleep sack?

When the nursery sits between 61 and 68°F overnight — drafty older homes, basement bedrooms, cold-snap winter rooms. Below 61°F, raise the thermostat first.

Will a 2.5 TOG be too warm for an average winter nursery?

If your nursery sits at 69–75°F overnight in winter (most central-heated US homes do), the 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ is the right weight, not the 2.5 TOG. Doubling a sleeper under a 1.0 TOG is also a common winter solution — but you can overheat a baby that way faster than with a single 2.5 TOG bag in a genuinely cold room.

What is DuPont™ Sorona insulation?

Sorona is a plant-based polymer fiber DuPont produces from corn-derived feedstock. It traps warmth without bulk and keeps its loft through wash cycles longer than polyester batting.

Is the 2.5 TOG sleeveless safe in a cold room?

Yes — and the sleeveless construction is intentional. The arms release heat during sleep; covering them changes the warmth equation. The bag carries the TOG warmth in the body; long-sleeve under-layers (a TENCEL™ sleeper or long-sleeve bodysuit) cover the arms.

How does this 2.5 TOG compare to other premium 2.5 TOG sleep sacks?

Most premium 2.5 TOG sleep sacks use bamboo rayon shell with polyester fill. Ours uses TENCEL™ Lyocell shell with DuPont™ Sorona plant-based insulation. The Sorona keeps its loft through more wash cycles than polyester batting, and the TENCEL™ shell is more durable through repeated washing than bamboo rayon.
