The Details

Construction: Sleeveless on purpose, so your baby sheds heat instead of trapping it. A two-way zipper runs the length of the bag, so a midnight diaper change takes seconds and wakes nobody. The neck and arm openings are bound in soft fabric, not scratchy serged edges, and cut snug — the part that matters most for safe sleep.

Sizing: 0–6M (8–18 lb), 6–18M (18–28 lb), 18–36M (28–38 lb). Size to current weight. The 0–6M usually carries a baby through to the 4-month sleep regression; the 6–18M is usually the size your baby wears the longest.

Why waffle: The waffle-knit TENCEL™ Lyocell shell adds loft and traps warmth against the skin, so a cold-room bag stays warm without adding bulk — the same fiber and the same safe-sleep cut as our 1.0 TOG bag, just built for a colder room.

Materials & Care

Gentle on sensitive skin and the planet, TENCEL™ Lyocell contains biodegradable fibers made from responsibly sourced eucalyptus tree pulp. It's made using a closed-loop production process where 99.5% of the solvents are reused during manufacturing, helping to minimize waste.

it got discolored after washing (following directions carefully)

Hi Katherin, thank you for your honest feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with the appearance of the fabric after washing.

All of our prints are made using water-based, AZO-free dyes. With TENCEL™ Lyocell, the fine surface fibers (or “peach fuzz”) that give the fabric its signature softness and cozy feel can become more visible after washing, particularly on darker colors. We understand that this can affect the appearance, and we’re actively working with our fabric mill to find a better solution for darker-based prints.

While we know this may not look the way you expected, we hope the fabric continues to provide the softness, comfort, and warmth your little one needs throughout the night. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. It’s feedback like yours that helps us improve.

Love the softness

I love Loulou Lollipop sleep bags - definitely the better made ones out of the many brands we've tried. Thoughtful design down to the easy zipper pull - made wider than others to make it easy to use with a wriggling toddler inside it. Only downside to this particular one was the use of the beautiful rich blue dye - it doesn't hold up being machine washed and line dried. It got faded pretty quickly after less than 5 washes and the material looks pilly now.

Very good, solid quality for the price, exceeded my expectations! At 19 months old, my son escapes all the other sleep sacks except this one (for now). Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

My favourite sleep bag!

The best sleep bag ever!! Incredibly soft and well thought out. The zipper cover is extra large so I don’t have to worry about it rubbing on my baby’s neck or chin. The double zipper makes midnight diaper changes a breeze. A great investment!

Awkward

I love lou lou PJs but this is not the same quality. Very awkward fit, the neck is loose and I wasn't comfortable letting my little one sleep in it for fear it would go over her mouth. Ironically the legs were way too tight so the fit was just off all around.

I know this is a small detail but the zipper tab is smooth and round and easy to find.

Comfy and warm, but fabric wore out over knees

I loved this in the beginning, but it didn't take long for the knees to wear out. I will have to put patches on the knees. I was surprised because my son only wears it for sleep, and I have followed the washing instructions.

Amazing sleep sack!! Really faded in wash

We love these sleep bags!! They fit FOREVER! This is my first time getting the waffle though and I’m not sure if it’s just luck of the draw but when I first washed it before use ( cold water gentle cycle, air dry) it came out soooooooo faded and looking already like it had been used for months! The same thing happened to the matching sleeper. The mechanics and all other qualities of the sleep sack are excellent and we love it but I was sad to see it so sad looking after the first wash before we even wore it!

Absolutely obsessed!!!! The material is so soft and cozy my baby loves it. Lots of room for her. Fits bigger I find. A 0-6 month fits my 9 month old with lots of room.

Smaller than Others

I have 4 sleep sacks of the 18-36 size and always hang to dry. This one is 38" while the others are 39.5" long. My child is tall and can't use this one.

Great heavyweight sleep option

These are definitely expensive, but if you can swing (or shop the end of season sales!) it they are totally worth it. I wanted a warmer sleep sack for my 8 month old as getting the legs back into the sleepers in the middle of the night is getting more and more challenging - warmer sleep sack = less layers, but I wasn’t liking the non-breathable, sweaty material many of the other 2.5 TOG options online. These are awesome, babe is warm, but not sweaty in the morning and loves the heavier weight. Plus the zippers are sooo smooth.

Love this sleep sack! It’s thick and amazing quality - perfect for Canadian winters. I love the 2 way zips, which makes diaper changes easy. Most importantly, it didn’t shrink in the dryer! My little man is super tall, and he has plenty of room to squirm and wiggle comfortably. I’ll definitely purchase another when the time comes, but I have a feeling this one is going to last a long time!

Why TENCEL™ for this sleep bag instead of muslin?

TENCEL™ Lyocell is a wood-pulp fiber spun in a closed-loop process. It pulls moisture off the skin quickly and stays soft and keeps its look through repeated washing, so we use it in our year-round 1.0 and 2.5 TOG sleep bags, the ones that get washed most. For the lightest warm-weather layers, you might want our products made with Tanboocel® Bamboo Viscose — like the 0.5 TOG sleep bags, swaddles, and crib sheets.

What TOG rating should my baby wear?

Match the TOG to the room. 0.5 TOG for 24–27°C. 1.0 TOG for 21–24°C, the most common nursery temperature in Canada. 2.5 TOG for 16–20°C cold nurseries. A nursery thermometer removes the guesswork.

What should baby wear under a 2.5 TOG sleep sack?

A short-sleeve bodysuit alone at the top end of the range (19–20°C), a long-sleeve bodysuit in the middle (17–19°C), or a sleeper plus socks at the coldest end (16–17°C). The TOG rating gives you the main warmth; what your baby wears underneath lets you fine-tune from there.
