Somewhere around one, they want to do it themselves. Messily. These are the utensils for the self-feeding stretch.

A learning utensil set in Alligator — A spoon and fork with polished stainless steel heads, set in chunky silicone grips shaped like a gator’s textured tail, in sage — sized for a toddler learning to self-feed. The line behind it took Best Silicone Baby Tableware in Mothers Always Right’s 2026 picks.

Material and care. Food-grade, platinum-cured silicone. LFGB food-grade certified — the German food-contact standard, stricter than FDA requirements. BPA, PVC, phthalate, and lead free. Dishwasher safe, top rack.

Common questions

What's in the set?

A spoon and fork with stainless steel heads in chunky silicone grips shaped like a gator’s textured tail, in sage — sized for a self-feeding toddler.

What age?

Roughly 6–18 months — the learning-to-self-feed window.

Dishwasher safe?

Yes, top rack.

When do we move to the kids' set?

Around 18 months, when they want stainless utensils like yours.

Why chunky grips. A toddler learning to self-feed can’t steer a long, thin handle. These grips are short and chunky on purpose — easy to hold with a whole fist, hard to drop, with rounded stainless heads sized for small mouths.

Other products in this character. Aly Alligator is also available as a snack plate, snack box, cup with straw, kids utensils set, feeding bundle, and tableware gift set. For the same theme in a design, see the Dino Friends silicone bib.

Loved it

Super cute and very handy to use for little hands. Loved how the little fork was also a "spork"

So cute!

Bought as part of a set with the snack plate and larger cutlery set. These are not only adorable, they’re rightly sized for toddlers’ hands.

Love them

These are perfect for my daughter's little hands. I got multiple sets and they're super cute. However, the fork prongs are slightly on the short side so it's like a spork - but I understand for safety reasons.

Perfect for little hands!

I bought these for the rhinos. I was sceptical about their actual usefulness, but I'm happy to say I was wrong! My 16 month old has so much control with these things! Most of the food actually ends up in their mouth! We also bought the rhino shaped plate and the raised edges on that combined with these utensils is a winning pair! It's been great to watch my toddler eat more independently and efficiently! Would definitely recommend!
