Texture you can see, warmth you can't — until the baby sleeps through a cool night in it.

Earthy mauve — the grown-up pink.

The Forbes-pick TENCEL™ sleeper, rebuilt on a waffle knit. The textured weave traps a little more air against the skin, so the same under-layer works a touch warmer on cooler nights.

Why waffle. The same Forbes-pick TENCEL™ as our smooth sleeper, knit on a waffle that holds a little air against the skin — a touch warmer for cooler rooms, with more texture in the hand.

Material. The same TENCEL™ Lyocell as our smooth sleepers, knit on a waffle weave for a little more texture and loft. TENCEL™ is Lenzing's wood-pulp fiber, spun in a closed-loop process and certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — soft, breathable, and built to hold its hand through repeated washing.

The print. Earthy mauve solid with a subtle warmth — closer to terracotta than baby pink. The nursery-decorator pink.

Construction. Fold-over cuffs cover the hands for the first few months — no mittens to lose — then fold back when the baby wants them free. A two-way zipper runs chin to ankle and opens from the bottom for diaper changes, the neckline is tagless, and the shoulder and crotch seams are reinforced where a sleeper gets pulled on and off twice a day.

When to choose waffle over smooth. The smooth sleeper is the everyday workhorse. The waffle is the one that gets photographed and the one that gets requested by name. Same warmth, more visual texture, slightly different hand. Most households end up owning both.

Adjacent products. Pair with the matching 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ Sleep Bag for a coordinated sleep set. For toddlers walking confidently in the crib, the 1.0 TOG sleepsuit is the next step.

Sizing. 0–3M, 3–6M, 6–9M, 9–12M, 12–18M, 18–24M. Size to current measurement. A sleeper that's too long bunches at the hands and ankles and rides up overnight.

Care. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. The waffle texture relaxes in the wash and springs back in the dryer. Don't bleach, and don't iron the printed areas.

Safety & certification. Aligned with Canadian Paediatric Society safe-sleep guidance. Tested to Health Canada's Children's Sleepwear Regulations (SOR/2016-169), and to CPSIA and ASTM standards. Material certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Loulou Lollipop is a Certified B Corporation.

Common questions

Are TENCEL™ pajamas better than generic bamboo pajamas?

For longevity, yes. TENCEL™ keeps its surface through repeated, heavy laundering. Because pajamas live in the laundry rotation, the fiber matters: TENCEL™ Lyocell holds its surface where softer-feeling knits pill. The pajamas your baby still has at 18 months are TENCEL™.

What temperature should baby's pajamas be?

Pajamas are the under-layer, not the sleep system. Match weight to the room: long-sleeve TENCEL™ under a 1.0 TOG bag for 21–24°C nurseries, short-sleeve under 0.5 TOG for 24–27°C, sleeper under 2.5 TOG for 16–20°C. The bag handles the warmth for you.

Why fold-over cuffs?

Newborns scratch their faces before parents can keep the nails short — every parent learns this in week one. Fold-over cuffs cover the hands without mittens that fall off. Around the 4–6 month mark, the baby wants the fingers free — the cuffs fold back and stay back.

Great material, but fades extremely fast

We love the waffle knit material of this sleeper and the smooth zipper. Unfortunately, the colour faded exponentially after the first wash while following tag instructions. We were very disappointed with this as the vibrant colour was what we initially liked about it so much.

Poor quality fabric

Initially, I really liked this pajama;it felt soft and cozy on my baby, and fit really well, also, the zipper is very nice. However, we have only had this pajama for 1.5 months and already, the knees are worn through because my baby is crawling. We have many sleepers from other brands that have not worn through at the knees. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the sleeper and am very disappointed with the quality.

Disappointing

Love supporting Canadian but unfortunately this fabric didn’t wash as well as I had hoped, especially for the full price I paid. Size fits bigger than most and the neck seemed to stretch out.

Disappointing quality for louloulollipop

Comfy but didn’t last. Colour washed away quickly, an had a hole in the waffle fabric after a month.

Sleeper

Amazing quality, best BB clothes we've purchased even my husband notices the quality. I bought a quilts, muslin blanket swaddles, multiple sleepers, hat, teether, multiple clothes. I'm obsessed!

Disappointed in the quality of the fabric

Bought the waffle sleeper last week for my 10 month old. After 1 wash (cold water & hung to dry) the fabric had pilling and this fabric is partially thin as the knee already has a hole from my son crawling. I have only ever put my children in Loulou sleepers as they are always great and always stand up to growing babies/toddlers. Just disappointed in this particular fabric.

Soft but colour fades

Absolutely loved how soft this waffle sleeper was and love the flip over feet but after one wash (as per instructions) the colour has faded and it looks worn out.

I tried to buy a bigger sizes for my LO so he can wear in the winter and the year after but the sizing is way off! My 17lb 50th percentile weight 6 month baby is apparently too big for this sleeper in size 12-18m. Great fabric but I guess he’ll have to wear the 18-24m I was saving for next year and cut out the cuffs as they'll be too long.

High Variability in Wrist Cuffs

I really love the prints and materials used but the hand cuffs are soo variable making some of them crazy hard to put on. I have one 6-12 month that has nice sized cuffs while another has much smaller cuffs. Sadly I have a 12-18 month one that has cuffs that are even smaller the smaller 6-12 month... This seems like perhaps a manufacturing/quality control issue...? If you are considering buying a sleeper I would suggest going somewhere where you can buy in person to see the size of the wrist cuffs. Also as a side note, not sure why an older child would need fold over hand cuffs??

It’s almost love

I had to switch to footless sleepers for my 7 month old because he’s long and lean and he keeps getting one or both of his feet caught in the body of footed sleepers in the middle of the night. Anyway, these sleepers are amazing for long, lean babies. I bought a waffle one and a regular one. The fit is perfect for him with some room to grow, and the best part is that the ankles and wrists stay where they should. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because after the first wash the grey mudcloth sleeper started to come apart at the seam on the ankle and I’m a little disappointed that the stitching isn’t better quality for the price.

Different quality from the other sleepers

I bought this baby sleeper hoping for great quality similar to all my purchased in the past, but it tore after just a few uses. I'm disappointed

Super soft, we love the fold over mitts and socks! Couldn’t be more in love with the pattern as well.

Stitches undone

I found the colour of this sleeper to be far lighter than I was expecting. I was also really disappointed because within a few wears/washes the stitches came undone on the cuff. I contacted loulou lollipop's customer service and didn't receive a response.

Sizing off

Really tight! Purchased 2 of these in 18-24 and they are different sizes unfortunately. One is really small and tight and the other fits great

Do not fit chubby babies!!

I am so sad. I want to support local so badly and the prints are all super cute! But my baby is a little chubby boy with arm and leg rolls. The arm and legs sleeves are just too tight :( Please!!! Please!!! Please!!! Make these inclusive for all babies! Again, I want to support local so badly!! I put I’d recommend to a friend, but only to a friend who’s baby is not chunky!

Horrible design

The sleeper’s cuffs are too tight, I bought size 6-12m and my baby is only 5 months. I couldn’t even take her hand through the cuff. It’s super tight, and the material of the cuffs isn’t stretchy. The design doesn’t make sense!

I want to love but arm cuffs way too tight

I really was excited for the cute puppy prints, and a Canadian company. I really want to love these cause the prints are SO cute. The body of the sleeper is stretchy and gives room to grow, but the arm cuff have zero stretch. It’s sooo hard to wrangle a wiggling babies arms into these. They are so tight. I wish they stretched better. I probably won’t buy any more, which makes me sad. I give 3 stars cause the print is so cute, the body is stretchy, and it’s Canadian and I love to support Canadian companies. Minus 3 stars for the fact that the cuffs are way too tight which means we won’t get much wear out of them. Which is sad cause I spent a lot of money on them.

Cute, soft, not made well

Unfortunately after only having it a month and wearing it a few times the seam around the ankle has already come apart. Lovely fabric but poor craftsmanship.
